Virginia Mae Hancock, 79, of Eddyville, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at River’s Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa.
Born June 6, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Robert Anthony Ham Sr. and Nettie Nell Lowery Ham. She was a seamstress and was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert David Hancock; great-granddaughter, Isabella Grace Oakley; three brothers, Robert Anthony Ham Jr., Charles Clayton Ham and Winford Earl Ham; and five sisters, Gladys Irene Smith, Mary Louise Groennert, Rosie Nell Sinkler, Mildred Sue Filbeck and Margaret Jean Youngblood.
Survivors include six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four stepgreaat-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Kay Cope and husband Jimmie of Benton, Valleta Jo Sirls and husband Doug of Benton; a brother, Ralph Rufus Ham of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home in Benton, with Tim Perdue officiating.
Burial followed in Marshall County Memory Gardens.
Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the funeral home.
