After an incredible season in which she won the All-A 2nd Region title and finished 13th overall in the All A state tournament, Claire Knoth has yet another accomplishment under her belt — a top 25 finish in the 2021 golf state tournament.
Knoth shot 80 in the first round at the Bowling Green Country Club last Tuesday to qualify for round two last Wednesday. With the weather amiss and a rain delay, the remainder of the first round began early last Tuesday delaying tee off by several hours the next day.
Knoth shot 42 on the front nine, but improved to 41 on the back nine for a second round score of 83 for her first appearance at the 36-hole event.
Some of Knoth’s accomplishments over the season include third place in the Bluegrass Golf Tour Junior Series stop, fourth place at the Hurricane Junior Series stop, winner of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, a top-3 finish at the Bluegrass Golf Tour stop and tied for sixth at the Kentucky Junior PGA event at the Bowling Green Country Club.
