Jakhia Copeland is in good position to make a defensive play against Trinity Whitesville.

Trinity Whitesville dealt the Lady Tigers a 69-53 loss in Princeton last Monday night.

Whitesville wasted no time putting up a 13-0 lead just four minutes into the contest.

Jakhia Copeland put the LadyTigers first points on the board, followed by Brylee Butts with a 3-pointer to close out the first quarter with the Lady Tigers trailing 17-5.

A long jumper from Presley McKinney closed the gap, 32-23, going into the halftime break.

Just three minutes into the third quarter, McKinney gave the Lady Tigers the slimmest margin they would see all night, 38-30.

Trinity went on another scoring spree putting up 11 unanswered points in just over three minutes.

By the end of the third quarter, a basket from Katie Smiley and back to back 3s from Copeland and Paris Gray trimmed the Lady Raiders lead back down, 49-38.

With 5:40 left to play in the 4th quarter and the lead within 9, 55-46, the Lady Raiders ramped up their offensive efforts to close the game out 69-53.

Trinity shot 15 of 18 at the line with Cassidy Morris going 8 of 9 and Josie Aull shooting 7 of 9. Morris led the Lady Raiders with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Aull followed with 23 points.

Gray led the Lady Tigers with 18 points and 9 rebounds, followed by Copeland with 11points. Katy Smiley added 10 points and 5 rebounds.
