Lady Tigers now 5-1

Caldwell County’s Raegan Hodge carries the ball down field in a recent game. The Caldwell County High School Lady Tigers’ record stood at 5-1 after falling to Henderson County.

The Caldwell County girls Soccer team loaded the bus and headed to Henderson County despite remnants of Hurricane Ida looming last Thursday.

Despite multiple lightning delays, Ida didn’t put a damper on Henderson’s 5-0 shutout. The Lady Tigers are on a 5-game losing streak, one of the toughest seasons the Lady Tigers have had under Coach Rhett Miller. The Lady Tigers are now 5-1 with the only win coming from the season opener against Trigg County.

The Lady Colonels led at the half 2-0 thanks to goals from Briley Fuller and Ashton Lynam, who leads the Colonels in scoring after the contest, boasting 12 goals and 5 assists for the season.

Maci Onstott wasted no time hammering at Caldwell County goalkeeper, Rachel McClung and was finally successful about 5 minutes into the second half making it a 3-0 game in favor of the Lady Colonels. Marley Collins made it a 4-0 ball game shortly thereafter on an assist from Ilana Hall. Careese Tombs sealed the deal on a corner kick from Ashton Lynam she headed in to end the game.

Henderson out-shot Caldwell 23-7. McClung is credited with saving 10 of those.
