Lady Tigers put out Rockets

The Caldwell County Lady Tigers varsity soccer team ended a three-game losing streak with a 6-1 win over neighboring Crittenden County last Monday.

Laken White scored her 4th goal of the season putting her at the No. 2 spot in Caldwell County’s offense. White put the Lady Tigers first points on the board on a pass from Keegan Miller to give Caldwell the 1-0 lead.

Harper Ritchey took a direct kick about 23 minutes into the game that found Mariah Merritt in front of the goal. Marriott used her body to deflect the ball into the goal to put the Lady Tigers up 2-0.

With 9:29 still left in the half, White crossed a pass from the right side of the field to Kendall Boyd on the left. Boyd planted the ball into the net to give the Lady Tigers a 3-0 advantage going into halftime.

Taylor Guess scored the Lady Rockets’ only goal on the kick off from the second half on a pass from Emilee Russellburg, making it 3-1.

Cali Traylor added to the 4-1 advantage on a direct kick that bounced off the keeper around the 54-minute mark.

Caldwell defense gave Abbey Gill, who was in the goal for the Lady Tigers, a break. Gill only posted two saves for the night.
