The Lady Tigers rebounded from a loss to Collins High in last week's West Kentucky Hoops Classic to close out the tournament with a notch on the victory side.

The girls' squad ended their tournament run with a decisive 59-28 win over the Ballard Memorial Lady Bombers in Friday afternoon play at the CAB.

After allowing 13 points in the opening period, the Lady Tigers held their opponents to single digits for each of the remaining three quarters, while staying strong offensively.

The squad shot near the 50 percent mark from the field, downing 25 of 51 shots taken, mainly from inside the arc.

Ballard went eight-for-35 in the contest.

Bella McConnell led the Lady Tigers' offensive run, with 17 points and seven rebounds. Jacey Jaggers added 15 points, followed by Jada Boyd with seven, Karsyn Parker, Majah Hollowell and Morgan McDaniels with four apiece, Riley Thomas with three, Jillian Choate and Peyton Young with two each and Parris Gray with one.

Boyd and Jaggers each contributed five rebounds, with three for Young, Parker and Gray, two for Hollowell, and one each for Thomas, Choate and McDaniels.

The Lady Tigers are now 6 and 6 for the season, while Ballard fell to 3-10 with the loss.

Caldwell's girls return to action tomorrow, Jan. 3, in an away match at Dawson Springs. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. in that contest. The squad will remain on the road through next week, with matches at Hopkins County Central Saturday and Madisonville-North Hopkins Tuesday night.
