Lady Tigers split results in home, road matchups

Caldwell County’s Lady Tigers battled in two games this week, claiming a 70-55 home win over Paducah Tilghman on Tuesday and a 52-47 loss at Trigg County on Thursday.

Against Tilghman, the Lady Tigers (3-3) outscored the Tornado (2-2) in each quarter en route to the win.

Senior Jacey Jaggers led CCHS with 28 points, hitting four of her five 3-point attempts and going 10-for-11 from the line.

Junior Parris Gray added 12 points, going 7-for-8 from the line, and senior Karsyn Parker put in 10 points and had a game-hgih 13 rebounds.

The Lady Tigers went 25-for-41 from the free-throw line in the game.

Natalie Warren was the sole Tornado in double-figures with 12 points .

In a low-scoring contest at Trigg County, the Lady Wildcats (4-3) held a scant 19-16 lead at halftime before outscoring the Lady Tigers 19-11 in the third quarter to forge a 38-27 lead at the end of that period. CCHS outscored Trigg Counyy 20-14 to narrow the gap, but took the 52-47 loss.

Caldwell County was led by Jaggers’ 17 points, while Gray added 12 points and went 6-for-6 from the line. Parker grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to go with seven points, while eighth-grader Katy Smiley also put in seven. Sophomore A.J. Hollowell took down five rebounds for the Lady Tigers, while Gray and Smiley each had four.
