A final-minute loss to Hopkins County Central Saturday, on the heels of an away win at Dawson Springs, brought the Caldwell County Lady Tigers to 7-7 for the season (5-3 in the region) this week, in advance of a Tuesday night contest at Madisonville-North Hopkins.

The Lady Tigers traveled to Dawson Thursday and held off the Lady Panthers to earn a 40-19 win. Dawson's squad is now 5-9 for the season after the Caldwell loss and a defeat by Metcalfe County Saturday.

Bella McConnell led the Lady Tigers in scoring, putting in 12 points, followed by Jada Boyd with nine. Lucy Goffinet added six, with five for Jacey Jaggers, four for Karsyn Parker, three for Peyton Young and one for Emily Campbell.

McConnell also controlled the boards, with 19 of the team's 50 rebounds in the contest. Parker added 12, with six for Jaggers, five for Morgan McDaniels, four for Young and one apiece for Campbell, Riley Thomas, Goffinet and Majah Hollowell.

• Two three-pointers in the final minute of the fourth quarter Saturday night helped the Hopkins Central Lady Storm squeeze out a 41-40 victory over the Lady Tigers.

Jaggers led the Lady Tigers in scoring and rebounding, with 14 points and seven boards. Other scorers included McConnell, with 10 points, Boyd with eight, Young with five, Parker with two and McDaniels with one.

McConnell added five rebounds to the team tally, with four for Parker, three for Goffinet and two each for Young and Boyd.
