Former Caldwell County star Bryce Thomas, bound for Northern Kentucky baseball this fall, stayed hot on Monday night at Brooks Stadium in Paducah — going 1-for-4 with a two-out, two-RBI double in the top of the ninth inning to help propel the Kentucky Prospects Americans to a 7-2 win over the Nationals.

Through four games, Thomas is now 4-for-12 in 18 plate appearances (.333 BA), with one double, one triple, six RBIs, five runs scored, five stolen bases and a .556 OBP.

Former Paducah Tilghman star and current Western Kentucky starting third baseman Eric Riffe led the Americans at the plate — going 3-for-5 with two runs scored, one RBI and one double.

Americans pitching also shined in the victory. Former McCracken County star Dylan Schneider went four innings and gave up two hits and no earned runs with one strikeout and one walk (while throwing 77.3% of his pitches for strikes), former Union County star Cade Duncan earned the win in relief with five strikeouts and just two walks in two innings, and former Livingston Central star Cameron Head finished out the final three innings — giving up five hits and one earned run with three strikeouts.

Former Carlisle County ace Corbin Hayden took an unfortunate loss, giving up just one earned run in three innings, while tallying three strikeouts.
