The Caldwell County Tigers entered the week, and the new year, hot, with a 92-53 win over Dawson Springs at the CAB gym Friday.

The win brought the Tigers to 10-4 for the season (3-2 in the region), and brought them past the 1,000 mark in points scored in 2018-19, behind only University Heights and Lyon County in the 2nd Region.

Five Tigers had double-figure performances in the contest — Derrin Boyd with 19, Cayden Fraliex with 17, Tripp Branch with 13, 12 for Cole Smiley and 10 for Adarius Riley.

Caldwell traveled to Madisonville Tuesday night as part of a boys' and girls' double-header against Madisonville-North Hopkins. The Tigers will finish the week with a trip to Webster County Thursday as part of the Kentucky 2A Championship Sectional Tournament. That match is set to tip off at 7:30 p.m.
