The Caldwell County boys’ basketball team got back on the hardwood Saturday after a two-week hiatus caused by snow and ice events in the area.

The Tigers fell to Breckenridge County, 69-59, in a game played at the Owensboro Sportscenter on Saturday, then lost at Union County, 68-60, on Monday.

Against Breckenridge County, senior Tripp Branch led CCHS with 25 points, hitting all eight of his shots inside the arc.

Freshman Carter Whittington added 10 points on 6-for-13 shooting from the free-throw line, while senior Tate VanHooser put in seven points and junior Zavy Bumphus scored six.

Bumphus and eighth-grader Colin Whittington each grabbed a team-high five rebounds, while Branch and Carter Whittington had four apiece and VanHooser and Demarius Thompson each had three.

Results for the Union County game were unavailable.

The boys’ schedule has undergone a number of changes because of games canceled or postponed by COVID-19 concerns or weather conditions.

Caldwell County will host Hopkinsville in a 7 p.m. Thursday game, and the Tigers’ District 7 home game against Dawson Springs at 7 p.m. Saturday will be the Homecoming game.

CCHS will host Christian Fellowship in a 7 p.m. Monday game before hosting a girls-boys double-header on Tuesday, with the boys’ game starting around 7:15 p.m.
