The Caldwell County High School volleyball team split its matches in a tri-match on Saturday, beating host Christian County 3-0, while falling to Bowling Green 3-0.

Against Christian County, the Lady Tigers (11-5) pounded 47 kills to the Lady Colonels’ 16, winning the match 25-9, 25-15, 25-18.

Senior outside hitter Olivia Mitchell led the way with a match-high 23 kills, while senior middle blocker Abby Griggs had 12.

Senior setter Kendyll Prowell handed out 45 assists, while Mitchell repelled a match-high 10 digs, w hile junior outside hitter Mary Tays had a team-high three aces.

Against Bowling Green, Mitchell had a team-high 21 kills, while Griggs added 11 in the Lady Tigers’ 25-22, 25-13, 25-18 loss.

Prowell had 35 assists for CCHS, while Mitchell returned 15 digs and Prowell and senior defensive specialist Riley Thomas each had 10. Thomas added three aces for the Lady Tigers.

Caldwell County plays at Ballard Memorial at 6 p.m. Thursday before closing out the regular season against Warren East and Christian Fellowship on Saturday. Times for those matches have not yet been determined.

CCHS (2-0 in District 7 play) has the top seed in the District 7 tournament, to be played Tuesday and Oct. 22 at Hopkins Co. Central. The Lady Tigers will play at 6 p.m. Oct. 22 match against the Tuesday winner between Madisonville-North Hopkins (12-3, 1-1) and Hopkins Co. Central (2-7, 0-2).
